EggPlant owns an exclusive patent and a technological platform that allows to recycle wastewater of the agri-food industry and convert it in bioplastic (PHA – polyhydroxyalkanoates), through an integrated and zero waste process, based on circular economy and biomimetic models.
Objectives
EggPlant’s technology allows the possibility to recycle different sources of wastewater, coming from multiple factories of the agri-food industry, replacing the common plastic produced from hydrocarbons with a biodegradable one. Currently, the scale-up of the process is running through the building of a pilot plant that will validate the technology on a pre-industrial scale.
